30 November – 4 December 2026 | Olomouc, Czech Republic
with an online session on 24 November 2026

Join our international Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) focused on research project development, academic publishing, and European funding opportunities. The programme combines an online preparatory workshop with an intensive week in Olomouc, including participation in the KNOWCON International Scientific Conference

Applications are accepted until 15 October 2026. Further information about eligibility and the application process can be found below.

We look forward to welcome you in Olomouc this winter!

About the Programme

Key topics:

  • Research Project Development: Transforming research ideas into project proposals.

  • European Research Funding: Introduction to Horizon Europe, ERC grants, and funding strategies.

  • Academic Publishing: Understanding challenges and opportunities along the publication journey.

  • International Research Collaboration: Building networks and future partnerships.

  • KNOWCON International Scientific Conference: Participation in an international scientific conference

This programme brings together academic staff from European universities to develop research ideas, strengthen publication strategies, explore funding opportunities, and build international partnerships. Participants will work collaboratively on project proposals, exchange experiences, and receive feedback from experienced researchers and project leaders.

Conference and Networking Opportunities

Participation in the KNOWCON International Scientific Conference is included as an integral part of the BIP programme. Participants may attend all conference sessions at no additional cost. Those who wish to present their research and publish a paper in the conference proceedings may do so for a publication fee of CZK 1,000 per paper. An important part of the programme is the opportunity to build new professional connections and strengthen existing collaborations. Participants will be invited to a social evening held at Galerie Dolní, a social enterprise gallery located in the historic centre of Olomouc.

Olomouc during Advent

Beyond the academic programme, participants will experience Olomouc during the Advent season. The city's Christmas markets, historic squares, and vibrant university atmosphere provide an inspiring setting for networking and informal discussions. Often described as one of Central Europe's hidden gems, Olomouc has been repeatedly highlighted by travel guides such as Lonely Planet for its architecture, welcoming atmosphere, and authentic character.

Who is this programme for?

This BIP is designed for academic staff, doctoral candidates, and early-career researchers who wish to strengthen their research, publishing, and project development skills.
It is also suitable for researchers who are starting in a new research area or returning to active research after a career break.
