How to Develop Soft Skills in the Age of Technology? A New Publication by Department Members

Monday 19 May 2025, 10:30

A new academic work titled Soft Skills for the 21st Century: Defining a Framework for Navigating Human-Centered Development in an AI-Driven World has just been released by the prestigious publishing house Springer. The book was authored by a team from our department: Assoc. Prof. Jaroslava Kubátová, Dr. Michal Müller, Dr. David Kosina, Dr. Ondřej Kročil, and Assoc. Prof. Pavla Slavíčková.

The publication is a result of the Horizon Europe project MEGASKILLS, which focuses on identifying, assessing, and developing the most important soft skills in today’s technologically advanced world. It offers a scientifically grounded critical perspective on the current understanding of soft skills. In addition, it presents a set of thirty essential soft skills, their definitions, categorization, and an integrated model, along with unique rubrics for evaluating proficiency in each of the skills.

Interestingly, many of our students are involved in the project by actively testing video games designed to develop selected soft skills as part of the KAE/SSS course.

Thanks to funding from the MEGASKILLS project, the publication is open access and freely available for download: View the publication on Springer.

We congratulate the authors on this significant achievement and thank our students for their engagement in the research process!
