Just before the start of the semester, our students joined Assoc. Prof. Jarmila Zimmermannová for two Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) at the University of Maribor in Slovenia. The first week focused on developing sustainability strategies, while the second explored how to put sustainability into practice through strategic management and project management.
Each BIP included five intensive days at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Maribor. Students took part in international lectures and hands-on team workshops. Assoc. Prof. Zimmermannová also led a session on carbon pricing, subsidies and how they influence business decisions. Each programme concluded with a study visit to Slovenian companies putting sustainable practices into action.
The experience gave students the opportunity to build international connections, study in English and gain first-hand insight into current approaches and data in sustainable management. They can draw on this knowledge in their further studies and in future cooperation with partner universities.
“This BIP brought me a lot of knowledge, new friends and some really good times. I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about going abroad through university, whether for a short-term or a longer stay.” — Ondřej Bubela, second-year student
